and day, very hard for many years (Aug 2000- Jan 2007) to come up with the safest, fairest, most honest, all inclusive, professional
Wuffingas system, and was glad to help anyone out who was looking for a all inclusive place to play "knight's in shining armour".
1. We wanted waster and live steel tourney's Judged By Certified non Member
Judges to legitimize the "sport", something that has not been done in America.
To legitimize the sword fighting genre, and make it
into a clean, respectable and actual, ...Sport.
2. Clean up the rhino hides, and execute the elitist philosophy of the "13th Century Mafia" spoken of in
some circles, and the non-criteria Peerage, and do away with any good 'ol boy's system. Furthermore to ABOLISH the never ending "calibration" issue. For Wuffingas
Tourneys, Pas de Arms, Holmhangs, are Judged, and it is, points of blows, in time alloted match like every other reasonable,
acknowledged, respectable, good-fair-honest, and upright sport known to man. Think Olympics, Do Jo, Boxing, UFC.
I
have heard some espouse that in middle ages genre full contact fighting, "people don't know if they are "dead" or not unless the man/woman in in the Armour says it is so"?
My common since, honor in my heart, and believe of truth says to me, that, that is a lie. It's the person in the armour, pumped
up on adrenaline, calloused by EGO-pride-arrogance-desire for fame, self deceived into his/her personal legacy of lunacy,
and mocking true chivalry that "doesn't' know" when he's bested. In some groups it's like two little boys with squirt guns
declaring, "no I got you first". Our Judged fights are superior and are in line with, and acceptable to the general public,
all true and real bodies of sports, contests, and competition. Period.
3. We will show for real who IS and IS NOT a "good
fighter", by discarding all systems no in line with modern knowledge of a Judged platform. Thus, to do away with the silly,
ridiculous self determinant blows, calibration issues, and at least have a chance at fairness and honesty, making the term
Chivalry finally count for something in America and abroad.

We wanted black powder for the period which used it. To have rifle matches as part of the "war points".
5. To give the Marshal's power and authority to do their jobs, without a so
called "royalty" stepping in the way of honor.
6. To
take the power of "banishment" out of the hands, of any sitting "royalty" and let the people breath free and self-assured
of advancement based on personal merit.
7. To make "fun",
historical studies, not political maneuvering and staying in power, the focus and goal or fighting men and woman.
8. To make a safe place for Family and kid's to play.
9. To have noise and "party" curfews.
10. To broaden and open our time periods and cultural aspects to include EVERYONE. It's a hobby folks. To
heck with European only middle ages studies and Knighthood.

To modify the system of awards and recognition. Having local Leadership vote in awards, not appointments by who likes or doesn't
like whom.
12. To build a Peerage based on merit, not just fighting
"skill".
13. To Police that Peerage. No Poop-heads allowed.
14. To see that NO religion hold power and sway in any, Keep, Shire, Barony,
or Kingdom.
15. To make every State of the US, it's own Kingdom,
run Corporately.
16. To allow deserving Woman into the Knighthood.
As was done in many cultures and SHOULD HAVE BEEN DONE ELSEWHERE ALL ALONG. And don't waste your breath pointing out the beggarly
few that they have been given a nod, because that's all it is, a freakin' nod. I'm talking policy, not bloated American ego.
17. To be as period as possible, -within a reasonable amount of time, ....
enforced. And furthermore to give the "atta' boy's" to the Living History folks, and the one's who don't take the time and
effort to study out a real kit? Let them be the side-liners.

To study and reenact battles as fought.
19. To always fight,
as real men fought, in armour as worn.
20. To do away with
false pretense in regards to melee rules of engagement, and fight in melee as real men fought in historical battles.
21. To allow Combat Archery "IN" once and for all, in all Kingdoms, never to
be questioned, disrespected, or tampered
with. NO MORE SECOND HAND CITIZENS for Wuffingas, EVER!!!

To bring back the pageantry, that cannot be found with a "get 'em on the field" suit of pickle barrel lamellae.
23. To have Arts and Science Judged by experts, educated in that field of study.
That's what we do want, here's what we don't want.
1. We didn't want 15
Kingdoms doing things 20 different ways. What a mess it would be if the National Football League in Atlanta had a set of
rules, and "traditions" and the NFL in California had a different set of rules and "traditions". Wouldn't that stink?
2. We didn't want an entrenched
"Peerage" based on whim and political maneuvering and the opinions of long standing membership. In a domocratic system doesn't
it make more since to earn a place, especially in something as unreal as a Reenactment group, than to have it appointed?
3. We didn't want a rattan only
venue. Rattan is great for practice and melee, skirmish, and war, but we want more. We want live steel. We want deep study
of all forms of weapons, in the martial arts, western, and otherwise. We are warriors, and we honor our forefathers East
and West, North and South. Before Christ and After. Europe, China, Japan, Africa, and the Americas.
4. We didn't want -non period garb and armour on our
Squires on up.
5. We didn't
want our Tudor Period, ("light" fighters) to be second hand citizens on an dues paid membership.
6. We didn't want woman and minorities to be under
represented on the list field, Peerage, Board Rooms, and Thrones.
7. We didn't want the general public to think we were ignorant dorks.
8. We didn't want first event garb rules.
9. We didn't want a closed Board of Directors banishing
and censuring some on the whims of those who are high ranking, not based on administrative or service accolades, but only
because they at one time "were a good fighter".
10. Kings run the war, and the fighters, do charity and good in the kingdoms. Nothing else.
That's all for now, but you get the general drift of things here? We know, (most of us having
lived half a century or more) that "life is not fair". But I'll tell you one thing, so long as the Lord God of Israel gives
me breath, Wuffingas will be as fair as humanly possible for each and every member, or any social status, monetary standing,
or mental capability. Got it? Those who serve, will be those who are recognized.
We go by Wuffingas Manual's, as written, JUDGED and Refereed, rattan for Melee, rattan-waster- for practice.
Live steel for our more mature experienced fighters. In archery both target and combat, siege, equestrian tilting-driving-Jousting,
Tourney live steel, By Laws, fighting conventions, and none else.
We are doing Sport Sword(TM) for our kid's 5-17,
but no boffer rules for adults have been forthcoming. If they do we'll probably just go with Dagohir or some such, and sponsor
events with that only. Looks like a lot of fun, for that maybe we'll just go play with them instead of doing our own thing
in boffer. Most of our guy's are Period minded, and leaning hard on authenticity and a exact portrayal, persona, and presentation
of Living History. Our Knights are bound to that philosophy, and our Peerage is dedicated to it, so I don't think we'll see
an Official LARP contingent in the Ranks. But by all means we don't discourage our members from doing anything they want to
elsewhere with any group.
